ppl trying to frame art as something thats been historically a “privilege” restricted to the upper classes pisses me off saur much….. when you have no idea what youre fucking talking about ❤️
the way ppl like to envision working/lower class people (or even just… ppl living outside those dynamics) throughout history as like…. eternally miserable illiterate idiots that only know eating gruel and dying of the plague is fucking infuriating. people sang songs, told stories, wove fabrics, embroidered, knitted, decorated their homes, their places of worship, their tools, their food, their clothes, their hair, their bodies, for thousands upon thousands upon thousands of years. everyone, throughout all of human existence, loved art. created art.
some of you unironically talk like 18th century colonialists but with the labels scratched off.
like. you may be stupid
Lace work, specially tatting but potentially other forms, is derived from net making- men and women who worked on ships decided to take the skills they had in crafting nets and make them pretty.
Humans of all classes have always made art, and will always make art because its the most baseline human thing that can be done
people on tumblr love adding “this is the funniest comment ive ever read” “every part of this image hits like a truck” “okay but can we talk about (lists all the things that make a joke funny)” in the comments. why dont you keep your voice down and let the posts wash over you in blissful silence
I went to Umibe no Etranger cafe in Harajuku today (*≧∀≦*)
It was a crepe store so almost everything in the menu is crepes and drinks. For every food/drink you order you will get a random free coaster :3
I ordered a blue soda cuz it just reminds me of the sea :3
I ordered one Mio and one Shun crepe xD Mio’s crepe has crabs in it because Mio just loves crabs. And for Shun’s crepe you get a free name card xD I got Shun coaster for both dishes which is quite funny but I’m not complaining at all cuz he is my favourite :3
They sell goods at the cafe too but I can’t post any photos cuz I have run out of allowance for this post xD
Anyway, I’m so happy Etranger made it this far, having a movie and cafes and goods and such ;; I was thinking all the time about how underated it was. But I’m glad more people know about it now. I hope Harukaze no Etranger (the next part of Umibe) will become an anime too ;v;
